Privacy Policy · Last updated April 2026
1. Who we are
liminalshort ("we", "us") operates liminalshort.org, an AI-powered creative platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Service.
2. Information we collect
We collect only what we need to run the Service. In outline:
- Account data — If you sign in with Google: your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. If you register with email and password: your name, email address, and a salted password hash (we never store your password in plain text). We use this to identify your account and communicate with you.
- Usage data — Prompts you submit, outputs generated, credit balance, and subscription status. Stored in our database (Convex) to deliver the Service.
- Payment data — Subscription and transaction records processed by Lemon Squeezy. We do not store your full card details; Lemon Squeezy handles payment processing.
- Technical data — Browser type, IP address, and page interaction data via cookies and analytics (see Section 5).
3. How we use your information
- To authenticate you and operate your account
- To process payments and manage credit balances
- To generate AI content on your behalf using third-party AI APIs
- To send transactional emails (e.g. subscription receipts) where necessary
- To improve and debug the Service using aggregated analytics
We do not sell your personal data to third parties.
4. Data sharing
We share data only with providers required to operate the platform:
- Google Identity Services — authentication when you choose “Sign in with Google”
- Convex — backend database (convex.dev)
- KIE.ai — image and video generation; prompts are sent to their API
- Fish Audio — voice / audio generation; text is sent to their API
- Lemon Squeezy — payments and subscriptions
- Cloudflare — hosting, DNS, CDN; may log request metadata
5. Cookies & tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies as follows:
- Essential storage — Authentication and session management, including storing sign-in state in
localStorage/sessionStoragewhere needed. Disabling this breaks the Service. - Analytics (Google Analytics) — Page views, session duration, and feature usage in aggregate. Google may set cookies such as
_gaand_gid. Data is aggregated and not used to identify you personally. You may use the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
By continuing to use the Service you consent to our use of cookies as described above. You can clear cookies at any time through your browser settings, though this may affect functionality.
6. Google Analytics data
We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4), operated by Google LLC, with measurement ID G-G4DJWXWZPZ. GA4 may transfer data to Google's servers in the United States. Google processes this data in accordance with its own Privacy Policy. We have enabled IP anonymisation where supported. We do not use Google Analytics to track individual users across websites.
7. Data retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Generated media (images, videos, audio) stored in history are kept until you delete them or close your account. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us.
8. Your rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export the personal data we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details on liminalshort.org.
9. Children's privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
